Well, not much to report today. But I said I'd keep up with this blog so I'm trying!! Just some odds-and-ends about the kids, I guess. Daniel's "boo boo" seems to be healing very nicely. The stitches haven't dissolved yet but hopefully that will happen in the next few days. He went back to school yesterday and all was fine. I was touched by how many people have asked about him, even people I don't know all that well! We seem to be blessed by a great community of people at OGUMC and at the YCS. Additionally, when asked how his boo boo is doing, Daniel responds, "Goo-D" (emphasis on the "D" at the end) so I guess that means all is well!
Daniel also says "thank you" quite a bit these days. I've been trying to figure out how to spell it phonetically, but he pronounces it kind of like "tscheh-schoo." It is way too cute and it just melts my heart each time he says it. He says it each time I put the Neosporin on his boo boo.
Elizabeth absolutely loves gymnastics (Thursdays at 4:00 at Tucker Rec). I am so glad that I signed her up. She also loves going to choir at church on Wednesday nights. Just this evening, her choir teacher, Amanda Brooks, pulled me aside to tell me that Elizabeth has really blossomed in choir. She was really shy in the beginning and didn't want to be there but now she is really participating and having a good time. I'm so glad because when it first started in the fall she would get really clingy and didn't want to go in the room and would sometimes even cry (she went through a period of doing this with Sunday School too). So I'm very glad to see that she is enjoying participating in group activities now. She did the same thing with soccer in the fall - cried and protested in the beginning but ended up loving it - so we signed her up again for the spring. It's a fun "daddy/daughter" activity for her and Ed to enjoy for a few Sunday afternoons and I think she really likes it!
Ed is doing really well with Weight Watchers. According to our scale at home, he is down 19 pounds so far in a little over 4 weeks. According to the "official" scale at WW, he is down 13 as of Monday. I am so proud of him and I think he really feels better about his weight and his health overall. He's been exercising a lot too and he really loves the elliptical walker. I've been getting up at 6:20 at least 4 mornings a week to exercise on the elliptical too. Ed says that the elliptical is the best money we've spent in a long time, and I might have to agree aside from our new patio and fence! Renting DVDs of "The Office" have been my motivation for getting up to exercise in the morning. I'm so glad that we are both on a good exercise routine and that we are building healthier habits for eating too. I have noticed a difference in how I feel overall just from incorporating healthier eating habits and making better food choices. According to our home scale, I'm down 5 pounds myself and although I can't really tell a difference yet except for maybe a little better feeling in my jeans, I'm happy with that and I'm encouraged to keep going.
